Kenya’s LGBTQ + community has long stayed silent about blackmail and extortion on platforms like Facebook and dating apps like Grindr, afraid of being outed and jailed themselves in a country where gay s*x can land you in jail for up to 14 years.

It is a pattern repeated in other countries where being LGBTQ + is dangerous, leaving people exposed to entrapment by petty criminals, organised gangs and sometimes even police.

Now, a handful of lawyers in Kenya are helping victims counter these crimes and deliver justice to people often shunned bv societv.

Edwarda gurrola ist Theater- und Filmschauspielerin. Seit ihrer Kindheit ist sie in verschiedenen TV-, Film- und Performance-Formaten zu sehen. Im Jahr 2020 gewann Gurrola den mexikanischen Filmpreis "Ariel" als beste Schauspielerin.

Johnny Mhanna wurde 1991 in Damaskus, Syrien, geboren. Seit 2015 lebt er in Österreich. Er spielte in zahlreichen deutschsprachigen Inszenierungen, u. a. im Werk X, bei den Wiener Festwochen in der gefeierten Produktion Traiskirchen. Das Musical sowie mit dem Theater im Bahnhof Graz.

Faris Cuchi Gezahegn (they/them/she/her) ist eine femme, nicht-binäre, intersektionale LGBTQIA* Menschenrechtsaktivist*in, die vielschichtige Medien als Katalysatoren nutzt, um die Würde der Menschheit zu sichern, die wir alle verdienen. Faris ist lebende Archivar*in, äthiopische ZEGA/QUEER Wissens- und Kulturvermittler*in, multidisziplinäre Künstler*in, Dichter*in, Stilaktivist*in, Teil des Ensembles des PCCC (Politically Correct Comedy Club) und offen für alle “Many-festations”, die xiers zukünftigem Selbst entspringen.

Annemarie Arzberger ist bildende Künstlerin und arbeitet von Wien aus in erdachten Paralleluniversen. In ihrem Oeuvre vereinen sich Figuren, Malerei, Objekten, Masken, Kostüm und Performance. In fantastische, verträumte Welten getaucht, behandelt sie gesellschaftliche Themen wie Angst, Tod, Umweltverschmutzung und Geschlechterrollen.

Katarina Csanyiova, geb. 1982 in der Slowakei, arbeitet in den Bereichen Performance, Theater, Film, Schrift und Rauminstallation. Ihr Schwerpunkt sind Texte und Sprachen in Aktion, die sie in verschiedenen performativen Kontexten anwendet. katarinacs.org

Roxanne Szankovich (alias Toxic Violin) verbindet in ihrem Instrumentarium E-Violine mit Effektpedalen, Loop Station und Gesang. Nach ihrem Violinstudium beschäftigte sie sich tiefgehend mit Musikimprovisation und versteht es, Genregrenzen verschwimmen zu lassen. Sie ist als Studiomusikerin, Komponistin sowie Live-Musikerin in Bands sowie in Interaktion mit performativen Künsten aktiv.

Gin Müller ist Regisseur*in, Theaterwissenschaftler*in, Performer*in und Q***r-Ar/ktivist*in. Gin Müllers Arbeiten verhandeln aktivistische und politische Themen sowie kollektive Formen der Zusammenarbeit auf und abseits der Bühne.

Selina Shirin Stritzel ist freischaffende Theatermacherin, politische Bildungsarbeiterin, Kulturwissenschaftlerin und transmediale Künstlerin. In ihren Arbeiten beschäftigt sie sich mit postmigrantischen Perspektiven und queer-feministischen Denkweisen.

last night , i had the at most pleasure to premiere “city of diaspora “ performance piece from , myself , and created with a lot of love, care , tenderness, softness and love to ourselves so that we have the technology to do that same for you as well!!!

a city that lives within a city - that is only visible through the eye of kindness, tenderness, softness and love !!!

a city that defy white supremacy capitalist patriarchy system that never ceases to suck our blood.

a city where we travel to belongingness that lead to self understanding and actualization.

a city that exist in folks smiles, kind gesture and embrace !!!

a city that see our otherness with dignity & with no authority to detect how that dignity looks like for us!!!
