Behind the scenes...
It might look like I'm creating a new floor mat for the lounge room, but I've just been preparing and organising some of my materials (yes, some, this is only part of my collection 😅).
A lot of time goes into sourcing and preparing upcycled and reclaimed materials. For starters, just think about how long it took me to drink all of these! (Not really, haha! But I probs did consume a couple of the gins/vodkas.)
Each of these pieces gets washed, dried, cut, sometimes washed again, flattened, and stored carefully so they don't scratch each other. Then they wait patiently to be picked for use in my next creation. 🧡
And yes, I'm pretty sure Mimi the cat has had enough of my s**t!

I've had a week off of jewellery, but yesterday I designed this adult sensory/fidget quilt for a loved one in my family with Alzheimer's. Aaand then I stayed up all night making it so I could gift it today! 🫣😅😵‍💫 It's made entirely with upcycled/thrifted items and materials. The little book was a hit, which I designed and made using fabric scraps.
It was such a joy to see it being used and was worth every hour of missed sleep! 🥰🧡

This is me touching base with the world of socials this week and it's probs about all I'll manage. This is my little sweetie, Alaska, who crossed the rainbow bridge last night after 17 beautiful years. I don't usually share personal stuff like this, but to be really honest, I'm absolutely heartbroken.
The song choice might seem a bit odd for this kind of post, but this was her favourite song. I don't know why, I guess she just had cool taste in music because that's how we'd roll. 🤍
Sorry I might be (extra) slow with things for a little bit, this is why. I'll be 'right, just need a couple of days.

It's nine days until the deadline of my personal goal to reach 100 orders through Madeit by my birthday.
Can I achieve it? Probably yes, if I dedicated more to time to putting it out there on social media, but it's been a particularly challenging year for me so I've been otherwise preoccupied (also anyone who knows me knows my life is usually pretty chaotic in general 😅). Plus, to be quite honest, posting and keeping up with socials is not exactly my strong suit (hey I do alright considering this, haha)!
So because personal goals are important to me, I'm just slipping this in here. You never know what can happen in nine days... ✨🧡✨

Love handmade, upcycled, sustainable jewellery?
These sterling silver "Daisy If I Do" earrings are my latest freshly picked creation. Made with reclaimed silver, and dark brown translucent beads created using upcycled plastic bottles, they compliment just about any outfit.
I design and handmake every piece of these, including the hooks that are specially designed to reduce the chance of accidentally falling out of your ears. Plus everything I make is either made in very small batches, or made to order - not mass-made.
As with all of my items, they arrive to you giftwrapped in eco-friendly packaging with free standard tracked shipping (express shipping is also an option).
