Sewing tank: FULL 🧵⛽️

I’ve just had the best time away in Sydney supporting my husband for the marathon 🏃‍♂️💕 So proud of him and loved our little time away… but I have to say, it’s pretty nice to be home.

There’s something about getting back into my sewing room, turning on my machine and thinking… right, what am I making first? 😂

My sewing tank is definitely FULL. I’ve got fabric waiting, patterns lined up, projects I want to finish and approximately 472 new things I want to make 🤣🧵

Sewing really has become my little happy place. A chance to switch off, be creative, learn something new and just do something that brings me pure joy. 💕

This is certainly part of my Nest stage 🪺✨

I simply couldn’t care less about drama 😂 If I see it coming, I’m taking a U-turn and heading in the other direction.

These days, I’m much more protective of where I put my time and energy. Give me sewing, creating, good people, lots of laughs and all the little things that bring joy 💛

Less drama. More joy. More love. More of the things that make me happy.

Did you really think I’d make it through the month without another sewing purchase? 😂🧵

Well… when in Sydney, how could I resist a visit to TESSUTI FABRICS?! 👀

I came home with the most gorgeous chocolate brown cotton poplin and peach viscose 🤎🍑 and I already have plans!

Can’t wait to show you what these become ✂️✨

My pattern collection is definitely starting to grow 😂🧵 so I knew I better get on top of it before it got completely out of control!

I stumbled across for A0 pattern printing and absolutely love the printing AND the packaging 😍 I even grabbed some extra envelopes so I could finally sort all the patterns I already had too.

Honestly, what a good feeling having them all printed, packed away and organised 🙌🏼✨

And of course… it’s another little win for my sewing room glow up! 💛

The Marlon Dress 💙🩷 by

I loved sewing this one and playing around with the direction of the stripes!

My first bodice ended up being a little too big, so I sized down, redrafted the darts and kept all the lovely fullness of the larger skirt. And I can’t believe it, but I think I actually got those darts pretty close 😂🙌

And I think I can officially say I’ve mastered zips! On both versions I managed to line the zip up perfectly…even with those stripes! 🙌 That feels like a sewing win 😂 (Little tips I learnt from The Lola Jacket).

The best part? This started life as a doona cover! I picked it up on sale and repurposed it into this dress and I just love how it turned out. ❤️

So excited to support the release of The Marlon Dress by and feeling very lucky to have been selected as part of the pattern testing team 💙
