I’ve been a little quiet lately… because apparently making a short film takes FOREVER...... 💀

So here’s a tiny peek behind the scenes at how Boo Kitty comes to life 🖤 From recording her voice, cleaning and editing the audio, lip syncing, animating, compositing, camera work… going back because I fu**ed something up 😂… and finally rendering for ETERNITY..... oh how I'm sick of rendering at this point...

I’ve spent the last few months buried in the biggest animation I’ve ever made, but I’m finally crawling back out of the animation grave...

And yes… it was made with A LOT of human misery... worth it...

Spooky Tales with Boo Kitty : The Tale Of the Franken Cupcake

It actually felt bizarre to finally create the poster for this short film. I've never done something this crazy... I wrote the script and started working on this last year. My runtime guess at the time was maybe 10 minutes +.... But ... to my horror... as I started animating and laying seconds down, the realisation of what I had committed to became very real...
The film is in fact.. still not finished... but the run time is going to be between 20 and 25 minutes... for animation made completely by one person.... that is insane...
I have suffered, not slept. Some nights I've been awake rendering at 2am just trying to get a scene across the finish line. 😂 I don't think you make a short film like this, you survive it... And it's actually extremely typical for me to stumble blindly into a 20+ production I wasn't at all prepared for..

So heres to the longest animation I've ever made. I look forward to finally sharing it with you next month

It's been quiet around here... While i try to maintain posting and everything else when I start animating, eventually.. I reach a point where I can no longer juggle all the things.. lol
I'm at the point where i've been animating for months... after drawing for this since last year... and there's somewhat of a light at the end of the tunnel... I have deadlines approaching that I don't know if i'll make or not.. . And I get burnt out.. this is probably the worst feeling of burnout I've ever experienced.. and normally I'd suffer in silence and just continue chipping away and then rise from the grave in another months time suddenly with a completed short film!.. as though it was an easy accomplishment.. but the reality is... There is a real rut.... where I've passed the halfway point of the film... and suddenly things start feeling like they will take an eternity to finish... some of the largest, most complex scenes in this animation are at the end, so I get to pass through this rut while working on those 😑
I thought now was the time to show the reality of the workload, while I'm deep in misery 😂

I do have a lot of announcements, event schedule changes, kickstarter updates, a remake announcement I've committed to.. So i'll be back with those soon.. but for now I need to return to the shadows and keep animating 👻
