The Lulla doll operates on 2 X AA batteries and the developers of Lulla highly recommend the use of rechargeable batteries (we love eneloop and varta). The battery life is approx 210 hours (depending on battery quality) and slightly less for rechargeable. Lulla will not function efficiently on generic brand batteries. Energiser and Duracell batteries are recommended.
