✨ Meet Skewif… the teddy that started it all. 💙🤎

Before Hooked by Rhee ever existed, there was just a little boy who asked his mum for a teddy bear.
I’d never made anything quite like it before, but I wanted to create something special just for him. So, with a ball of blue and brown yarn, a crochet hook, and a whole lot of determination, I made this little bear.
Let’s just say... he wasn’t exactly perfect. 😂 His arms and legs were all different lengths, his body was a little wonky, and every part of him seemed to have a mind of its own.
When my mum saw him, she laughed and lovingly called him “Skewif.” The name stuck, and so did my passion for crocheting.
Looking back now, I can see every mistake I made in those stitches—but I also see where this beautiful journey began.
As mums, we spend so much time trying to get everything just right. But sometimes the most imperfect creations become the most treasured. Skewif reminds me that it’s okay to start before you’re ready, to learn as you go, and that love is stitched into every handmade piece, no matter how wonky it may be.
Without this little bear, there would be no Hooked by Rhee. Every cuddly, every snuggly, and every custom order has grown from the lessons this little guy taught me.
So here’s to humble beginnings, to little boys with big requests, and to the teddy bear that changed everything. 💙
