π± Day 1 of Wildlarks Society
A bit of hard work in the sun, gardening.
Their task was to clear the weeds from this area, take the weeds across to the compost and clean up.
I saw a job that should take no more than 40mins.
They took 2 hours.
I hovered between giving them the space to complete the task themselves at their pace and wanting to crack the whip and push them to work faster.
New things take time. These are new skills they are learning.
Sustained effort. Working even when you are hot and uncomfortable. Brushing off the pain of a green ant bite and keep going. These are all learned skills.
I watch and listen to the way they are problem solving. Each one trying to slack off a little bit, the other noting the unfairness.
I let them work it out and the job got done.
The reward is a swim to cool down.
Iβm learning to step back.
