We have been missing sharing all the great things we buy for ourselves, our children or even our extended family and friends. So we thought we would continue to share what and where we have sourced our latest finds!
In recent weeks, as I am sure most of you did as well, I had my eyes opened up by the War on waste series on the ABC. I thought those cups were indeed 100% recyclable! I am a coffee lover with a 3-4 coffee a day habit with a few teas thrown in when the need arises. I was regularly buying take away coffees most days and definitely on weekends while watching or commuting the kids for sport. After watching the show I made a vow to never buy a take away coffee in a 1 use throw away cup again … Big call for one who runs on caffeine!
So the hunt began to find a cup that suited my purpose. My search criteria
1. Good for the environment.
2. No plastic taste from the lid.
3. Quality made
4. Functional.
5. Stylish.
6. Easy to clean.
I wasn’t too concerned about heat retention, as once a coffee is made I tend to not leave its side, unlike its poor cousin the steeping tea cup, which on many occasions I accidently abandon only to find it luke warm or stone cold from neglect!
So what did I select? This sexy looking beast!! Joco Cups are glass reusable coffee cups.
“The JOCO philosophy is simple: longevity, flavour & style. Glass lasts longer, never affects flavour and always looks best. Our thoughtful practices and clever products make JOCO the ‘Cups That Care’.”
These classy creatures come in 3 different sizes, 8oz, 12oz and 16 oz and an array of attractive, lust worthy colours! Including a collection of more opaque colours called Sea Glass.
Cup Features include
- Thermal Silicone Sleeve and Lid
- Anti-Splash Ergonomic Lid
- Standard Barista Sizing
- Dishwasher & Microwave Safe
- BPA, Lead & Cadmium & Free plus Food Grade Safe.
- Made From Non-Porous Borosilicate Glass – What does this mean? Yep I totally had to look this up!! It means the glass is light weight while remaining resistant to extreme changes in temperature.
They arrive in a sturdy custom made cardboard canister that is also designed to be reusable and is 100% recyclable. I actually use mine to store my Joco cup in the car so I always have one at hand when I am on the go. As an added bonus more and more cafes now give you a discount if you bring in your own keep cup too!
I ordered mine direct for the importer www.jococups.com the prices range from $24.95 8oz to $29.95 16 oz plus postage. Shipping was quite affordable with standard postage for 1 cup set at $8.00, 2-3 cups at $12.00 and 4-6 cups FREE!!! I may have somehow justified buying myself 2 cups because I couldn’t decide between Mint and Sea Glass – Persimmon, so this also means one for the house one for the car.
Have any of you fabulous caffeine addicts used on of these? Tell me what’s your favourite colour?
