Tutu taming day.

Mosto and gold hybrid tutu.

Due to geography, this one couldn’t be fitted, so hybrid was a good solution. It uses some traditional construction - a 10 panel lined bodice with bones sitting over the skirt basque - however it employs the benefits of modern components and techniques. Some stretch fabrics provide additional tolerance; plastic tag tacking of the tulle helps with shipping; and a gathering foot on my machine makes beautiful consistent layers for the tutu. Lots of length on the straps and generous seam allowances down the bodice side seams will also enable some adjustment if needed, but so far looking good on the adjustable mannequin 🤞🤞🤞

Flashback!! Digging through a box and found some photos of me out on the dance floor in one of my favourite Latin dresses - sparkled floral mesh with fringed skirt and laced back. (And a strapped ankle).
Whilst I don’t get to dance these days, at least I still get to chat ‘all things dance’ during fittings.
