I am sorry for the lack of new artwork lately or posts in general, I have been working on a collaborative project that’s been pretty time consuming. It’s taken me almost 10 months to create, 39 weeks 5 days to be exact and it’s been both very fulfilling but exhausting. But we are so pleased to be able to finally share our latest (tiniest) masterpiece!

Marshall Rohan Browne - born on 21 July 2026 at 11:15am, weighing 3.5kg (7 pounds 7 oz) and measuring 49cm long.

Marshall and I are both doing really well and I am absolutely smitten. Reuben Browne and Roman are already wrapped around his tiny little fingers, and our all our hearts feel very full.

Thank you to everyone who has loved, supported and checked in on us throughout this pregnancy. We couldn’t have done it without all your love and support.

🩷 The Thistle Crown 🩷

So here’s how this one came to life! I was handed this gloriously extra ornate gold frame (no glass, but plenty of attitude) with a tiny old oil painting living its best life inside. I gently peeled (I.e the poor oil painting did not survive this process) that painting off the backing board like a little art gremlin on a mission.

Now, here’s the thing: I hate painting backgrounds. Hate it. Loathe it. I’d rather wrestle a spider in the shower. So, I’ve been brainstorming (read: complaining) about how to cheat my way out of painting them forever.

Then came divine intervention via the op shop. I spot a floral tea towel. A lightbulb moment. I slathered Mod Podge over that backing board, glued the tea towel down, and BAM background done. Zero pain, all gain. Then came my thistle girl, blooming right over the top like she owned the place. As I painted The Thistle Crown, I also wrote a poem to go with her the words and the art grew together, each feeding the other until she felt complete.

Honestly, I think this might be my favourite painting I’ve ever made. You can see The Thistle Crown in person at House VanChaos Gallery, 44 Skinner Street.

So… I’m braving the outside and setting up my very first market stall on Saturday 19th of October from 10am until 2pm in Skinner Street, South Grafton! 🛍️

Come down, pop in, say hello, buy a thing (or just laugh at me nervously trying to look professional). You’ll find me hiding in the shade, because me and the sun have a very volatile relationship, mostly the sun doing sun stuff and me turning into a violently bright shade of pink.

Honestly, what did I expect with a name like Bonnie Grant… possibly the most Scottish name on the planet. SPF 1000 couldn’t save me. Pray for me.

I will have originals of all sizes (because size really does matter), some stickers and maybe some t-shirts if the post man arrives on time 💌 You can also browse my online shop and make custom orders.

While I was sitting in the Fish Bowl on Wednesday, I got asked to do a super interesting commission. Sketching up a man described in a 1926 police gazette arrest warrant. 👀 As a lifelong true crime lover, this one hits an extra-interesting nerve for me. Definitely not my usual style but I am excited to give it a red hot go.

For anyone wondering YES, I do take commissions of almost anything. I did pet portraits as a side hustle for a long time (the OG followers will remember these times).

BUT – I reserve the right to say no if:
⚡ it’s not my style or something I feel like I could not produce to a high standard (being a perfectionist is hard sometimes)
⚡ you want me to directly copy another artist’s work
⚡ my cup is already overflowing (I do still have a big girl job)
⚡ or if it just plain doesn’t spark my interest
