Crowning people is my thing.

I had to crown around a million people (I’ve not made that many crowns however I have put them on that many people). Watched them time travel back to their inner child, before any hurts of the world had touched them. Again and again, my higher self trying to show me that that was where the healing was. That through the unraveling I would go back to that person and find me.

Here I am wearing the ‘Garden of Eden’ crown a design I created for myself. This image is from my wedding day. I married myself, a deep commitment to myself, my healing, my higher self and my children.

Under the sea

I took to the sea seeking healing many, many moons ago. Scuba diving the red Sea off the coast of the Sinai desert every day for many months. I dived all times day and night.

Like dreaming awake was how I described it then. Suspended in a universe of blue, weightless and floating. Where I could see and play with sunbeams shining in from above. With the ocean holding me and a focus on breath - it truly felt like a dream.

Schools of fish would pass by - connected somehow - at the same time changing direction, synchronised and swimming as one. Some would hang out with you and just cruise along. So many creatures and reflections dancing within that magical song. Sting rays bigger than me swimming past above - like magnificent birds of the ocean. Awestruck I was.

Here I found a heaven that existed on earth. A place of complete wonder. It was here I became a mermaid, with oceans so deep running through me. Gifting my creativity the magic of the sea.

Goodness, thank you for your patience. These times have been so challenging for everyone. I can feel the celebration that will be ours - when isolation and separation is done. Hold on this ride isn’t over, Covid a reminder that nature is bigger than us. Not much longer and we will dance together again, celebrating this life with the joy of each other - what a beautiful gift.

A dolphins tale.

When I was in the Middle East - I was blessed to meet a young deaf boy. He was from a Bedouin fishing family, he had the most beautiful connection - with a dolphin. They didn’t have much on the materialistic side of things. But so much more in terms of connection to ocean, spirit and community.

When we met, he took my hand and we went to the oceans edge. He started to make sounds calling out to the ocean. He did not have words, he was born deaf and had other means of communication.

A dolphin appeared and swam towards us - he turned to me and started to gesture towards the water. Again taking my hand and into the water we went. Swimming out to her. She swam around us. She went down - he again took my hand and we swam down - swimming along next to her. Up and down we went. If we stayed in one place she would swim around us. If we swam she would swim with us.

Some time later, the three of us were on top of the water - the boy swam in close and she allowed him to hug her. He then pulled at my arm indicating to go nearer. I did - I looked deep into her eye - so so beautiful. Went in close and hugged a dolphin. Such a beautiful special moment.

Later the family explained to me that she had become orphaned. That she used to tag along behind there boat, the boy began to feed her - ‘cooing’ to her in his own special way. There connection grew so strong - that now she responded to his call.

My first dolphin family here in Australia was on Morton Is. Somewhere I have visited many times in my life - the first time as a child with my grand parents. My heart sings here. A magical place with many star fish - often washing up on the beach - but we would return them to the ocean - a wish for every one.

Telling my daughter these stories yesterday - I am feeling called back to my island home. Where the water is alive with dolphins, where there is phosphorescence in the water - adding magic to night time swims, sand dunes to play in, a Blue Lagoon, where the sun sets over the ocean and where the magical healing and joy of nature is so strong for me.

I’m a mermaid.
