The Bend swaps racing for rodeo as bull riding comes to Tailem Bend

The Bend Classic will introduce a full rough stock rodeo to open the October long weekend festival from 2 to 4 October 2026, featuring bull riding, saddle bronc, ba****ck and barrel racing with nearly $40,000 in prize money across rodeo and barbecue competitions. The event at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park in Tailem Bend will run rodeo action Friday night under lights followed by country music headliners Lee Kernaghan and James Johnston on Saturday, alongside historic racing, vintage drags and camping from Thursday 1 to Monday 5 October.

Taking on one of rodeo’s toughest and fastest timed events, Lachlan brings plenty of determination and experience to the arena.
