👑 Lord of the Snapper 2025 🎣 – Winter Competition ❄️🐟

This isn’t just any fishing comp — this is a winter mission to be crowned the ultimate Snapper Lord!

Held right in the heart of the coldest season, this competition runs for the whole month of July. It’s all about getting out there when the odds are stacked against you — challenging conditions and slim chances. But for those who give it a crack… glory awaits.

I'm running this comp off my own back — my time, my money — not to make a buck, but to bring something back to Victoria that actually means something. Remember the buzz of the old Tea Tree comp? I do. I still picture all the boat lights glittering across the bay at night, wondering who would land the winning red… Would it come from Westernport? Or Port Phillip Bay? It was just bloody awesome.

That’s the spirit I want to bring back.

Catching a snapper in July? That’s nearly impossible. But someone will do it. Someone will rise to the top and be crowned Snapper Lord 2025.

Good morning everyone! Thank you so much for the incredible response to our initiative to take people fishing. Over the next few days, I’ll be reaching out to address all your kind offers—from donations of clothing and tackle to offers of using your boats. It's genuinely inspiring to see such enthusiasm.

For those offering to use their boats, as much as I’d love to organize a large fleet, I’m not sure that insurance would cover this arrangement. However, here's a thought: why not call a family member, friend, or a young person you know? We all know someone who might just need that little push to step out of their comfort zone. Even a simple offer can make a big difference—you're part of the cause.
Invite someone new to go fishing; it’s a great way to get them hooked! Be open to new experiences and don’t stick too rigidly to your usual routines. This post has sparked an incredible wave of kindness. If it continues to foster positivity in our fishing community, that’s truly wonderful. Have a fantastic weekend and stay awesome, everyone!

Sloppy day today on the Bay. decent gummy shark took a squid ring on a snelled 187 hooks camouflaged perfectly with the lumo hooks ..last two hours of run out tide southern end of the bay. Ocean pro Jacket keeping me dry Tinnyvsocean

Nearly 3 years since my brother and I went out chasing one of these beasts, grateful to be out there and to put one on the deck 🙏🏽 The fish took a in the short rigger, and around the area of 28 31 at 5pm. Get out there guys and have a crack a stay safe!
