Hi y'all! How's everyone doing? Just wanted to let you know, I'm taking a hiatus from actively updating this page- as you may have noticed I've been slowing down for a while anyway, but really need to take a break and reassess what I want to be doing. FINISHED!! The last project of Tilly Walnes' book, Love at First Stitch, is done! Introducing the Lilou dress! New techniques included shaping with dart tucks, attaching a neckline facing, lining a garment, fashioning pleats, and slip stitching. Variations include a scalloped neckline, adding decorative features, and using contrasting fabrics for skirt and bodice. I found this super easy to follow, even though it was fairly technical. Maybe I'm gaining confidence, or maybe the book is just great. I think it's a combo of the two :) hope you like it x

So the fabric I chose to make the final dress in the Tilly book wasn't wide enough to cut the front part of the skirt from. After 3 trips back to buy more fabric after cutting errors, I finally have a perfectly matched front-of-skirt...6m later!! Pretty pleased with myself- now I get to actually make this thing!!
