I’m Ashwini 👋🏽, the brown woman behind Ivory and Caramel ~ I think it’s about time I introduced myself! 😬

Here’s a few fun facts about me:

~ I’m a Singaporean Indian (Malyali) Hindu who strongly believes all religions are equal! I’ve lived in Perth since I was 5.

~ I work full-time in corporate public relations and I’m trying my best to kickstart this side hustle small business (with help from my amazing hubby)!

~ I started Ivory & Caramel after noticing a real niche in the market during my wedding planning… As an immigrant and someone in a mixed marriage, I found it very difficult to find affordable outfits that spoke of my traditional yet modern identity.

~ I truly believe there’s a sweet balance between staying true to your roots and feeling at home with where you live or where you’ve been brought up. No one should feel ashamed for being an immigrant, you are allowed to be both ivory and caramel (and every other shade or colour you identify as!)

~ I’m a big advocate for mental health, respecting all living things (I’m vegan), diversity and inclusivity!
