Hi 🤗 We are a group based in Perth, Western Australia, for people who want to do outdoor and street inline / quad skating (rollerblading / rollerskating) together. It's for anyone who is now, or has been a rollerblader in the past. Now you can easily find others who blade, get encouragement, be challenged, improve your skills, all in the outdoors. The idea came from the street and night rollerblad
ing groups in other cities. They'd meet by the river or at a pedestrian bridge, blade to a place, meal, maybe a drink, blade back. Group leader, first aider, tail-end-Charlie. 30-40 people would come, all ages, 6-60. Not always on streets of course as there are plenty of path and bikeways in Perth to use. Early morning, weekend and evenings are all good times. Lots of riverside and lake paths in Perth. Lots of scope for challenges as well. The social meetups should always have a venue in mind for a re-charge and a chat. It can be a place to blade to, stop, eat and coffee, then return, or a place to socialize after all is done. Though the social meetups may be the binding glue of the group, with venues and activities that all ages and skill levels can participate, but it's hoped that a full range of challenging activities will develop. Skate fitness, downhill, street, speed, kerb rolling, bragging about what you used to do in London!. Family events, with parents and children who blade, or parents who will bike ride alongside are welcome. Encouraging 'experts' should step up and teach the kids, while you still know more than they do. An organiser for the family meetings would be good to have in each group. Keep in mind that meetings are for 18+, so kids need a parent or guardian to attend. Lets focus on having fun and staying safe as well. Wear the protection required for your skill level and the activity. Venue suggestions and best times/days that suit you can all be raised in a discussion or posted.
