How to measure a child's seated height.
• Have them sit on the floor with their bum and back against the wall (or if they are too small for sitting up, lay them up against the wall like my second picture)
• Measure from the floor by their bum, and up to the top of their shoulder.
When is this helpful to know?
• when a child restraint is being set up in another carer's vehicle but the child isn't available (like a visiting grandchild going into Nan or Pop's car);
• if you are asking for recommendations for appropriate child car restraints, but are coming from a different country with weight base-limits instead or Aus height-based limits.
• not sure if your child should be rearward or forward facing for a particular seat.
