Wow

Anzac Parade, Eastern Suburbs, in 1870.

When this photo was taken the street was known as Randwick Road, it wasn't until 1917 that it was renamed Anzac Parade after the troops that battled in World War 1. The official opening of the renamed roadway was on 15th March 1917 and was opened by Lady Mayoress of Sydney, Mrs R.D.Meagher and an Obelisk was erected the same year in honour of the ANZAC Troops.

Councilor is coming to cut the ribbon tomorrow for the opening of Ormeau's Farmers Market. Come and say hello we have a stall along with all these other talented people.

Typically, we don't get to enjoy a great deal of this kind of event up here in the far north, so get along and support these local businesses giving it a go. I'll be there first thing in the morning to cut the ribbon and officially open the event on behalf of City of Gold Coast.

Organised by newly formed community group STEPS 4208, the plan is for these markets to be a regular monthly fixture up here in Ormeau, so spread the world amongst your Division 1 friends!

We’re really excited about our first Farmers Market and are looking forward to seeing you all there!
Please remember that fresh produce is seasonal and relies on Mother Nature. If you don’t find your favourite this month, there’s a very good chance it will be there next month! We have a variety of stall holders each month, with some of them pre-booked for later months.
We want to make this a big success by providing you with the type of products and services you’re looking for. We’ll have a stall too, so please come and let us know your thoughts or just come and say hi!
Remember- All proceeds go towards promoting local Mental Health Awareness and Research for all age groups!
