Sometimes all I see are mistakes. I made this bag a long time ago and didn’t finish it. My industrial machine was a beast that I couldn’t control yet. I used decovil but the leather didn’t need it. It also didn’t adhere properly. The stitches are too tight, uneven. The list goes on. But now it’s a good guide for what not to do. I put leather making on pause for a while and made a lot of fabric bags, so I could learn more about construction, technique, finishing and just get better. I’m finally ready to make it again. One in black, one in brown. Happy days.

Been thinking about velvet lately? Me too. I think I have about 100 metres of it 🫣😬 so I’ve made up some velvet project packs. 4 pieces in each pack. Each piece is a minimum size 50cm by 50cm. You could make cushions, bags or even try quilting. Also good for small upholstery projects like a dining chair. I’m happy to mix and match colours so you get the ones you want. Only $10! Need some big cushions? Maybe some floor cushions? This half finished project includes 3 x 65cm by 65cm cushion pieces with the zip already sewn in. Included is enough fabric to finish the other side and even include a gusset. Priced to sell at only $10. This was rescued from a Marrickville manufacturer before going into landfill.
