She bought a watch.

The client said yes to the branded tote bag order and Wendy celebrated accordingly. That was a while ago. The client has since seen Wendy's follow up email, her second follow up email, and a third one she's pretending was accidental. No response. Wendy is just sitting there refreshing her inbox.

The watch was non-refundable.

Katherine is deep into something about synergies and deliverables and Charles has the pen ready, the paper out, the focused expression locked in. Not one word has been written down. The nodding is doing all the work.

Katherine asked Charles to be the taste tester. This was a mistake.

Competitor's lolly went first. One bite in, Charles just... stopped. Head back, completely checked out, somehow still sitting upright. Katherine didn't even look up. Tried ours next. Normal reaction. Sweet. Charles remained checked out for a while longer.

He's fine. Just needed a moment to recover.

Katherine called the competitor's sunglasses "semi-protected." She was being generous.

One lens was there. The other lens was somewhere on the floor, possibly Katherine's doing, definitely not addressed. She put them on anyway and kept a straight face. Then she picked up ours — both lenses present, both doing their job, zero surprises.

No further questions about the missing lens.
