Thingswelike2knit Come in and take a look at the things we like to knit. We stock lovingly hand knitted hats for all ages; and knitted accessories for adults and the home.

Mr and Mrs Thingswelike2knit have both been knitting since they were children. Fifty and forty years respectively. In 2014 they surprised themselves with the number of items they made for new additions to their extended family, so they thought they might just keep making things they like to knit, and open their Etsy store. They like to knit with quality, and sometimes quirky yarns, in modern styles. They stock mostly accessories for the whole family, and for the home.

Mr.Thingswelike2knit has been busy creating in preparation for the Winter Wool Fair at Sutherland Uniting Church hall on 29th and 30th May. Here he has handspun merino roving, then dyed it in a combination of blue and green, then knitted this beautiful winged scarf. Now washed and on the blocking mat, it will be ready for sale at the Wool Fair. See all our other creations in our Etsy store:

Before Christmas we had a local friend visit us wanting to purchase some beanies to take overseas for Christmas. She was looking for a small size. We realised we haven’t made a lot of small hats, because we are a family with large heads and were forgetting about those with smaller heads. We have vowed to be more mindful of this. This woollen beanie in teal is definitely a smaller size and in no way can fit any heads in this household. Link to Etsy shop in bio.

What a lovely story about a legacy left behind by an avid knitter.

When craft enthusiast Maxine Narelle Smith died, she left behind a collection of knitted squares. Her daughter and a team of volunteers are continuing her work, knitting them into blankets for those in need.
