Connection of the Day

Serena came into the shop today just as I was about to shut up and head off for lunch. Perfect timing really.

As she wandered through the aisles, she kept pausing and saying things like, “Oh this is lovely… isn’t that beautiful… you’ve got some really nice clothes in here.” She even commented on how well priced everything is and said the shop smells nice, which is always a lovely thing to hear when you’re just doing your everyday thing.

Those little genuine comments really do stay with you. It’s easy to get caught up in the rush of the day, but moments like that reset everything in the best way.

WaveZone Story of the Day

This morning I was sitting out in the WaveZone, getting blown around by the wind while perched on my chair, doing my usual wave and smile at passing cars.

A car came down Water Street with three people inside… and all three of them waved back at me AND gave me a double beep.

Honestly, it was such a simple moment, but it completely made my day. Those little connections with strangers remind me why I love being out there in the WaveZone — you never know when a small gesture is going to lift someone’s whole morning.

Just a lovely reminder that kindness and connection travel both ways 💛

Yesterday Candice came in with her mum, bringing in some beautiful dresses on consignment. It wasn’t just about the stock dropping off though—it was one of those unexpected, genuine moments of connection that sticks with you.

I only met Candice a couple of weeks ago, but already there’s this easy, natural friendship forming. Her smile honestly lit up the whole day yesterday. Simple, real, and such a nice reminder of how people can cross paths at just the right time.
