I was so excited to have a full house today at hobbysewmelbourne considering it’s a long weekend in Melbourne. So much fun and learning, everyone did an amazing job with their machines. Thanks Kylie and team for a great day.

Belinda needed to leave class early yesterday and didn’t get to finish her table runner. She’s been very busy since and finished it - look at the beautiful finish she achieved and her Janome loved the WonderFil Specialty Threads GlaMore thread. Thanks for allowing me to share your photos Belinda

Winter has hit in Melbourne, today was cold and wet but I was snug and warm heading off to class. This week I made burda 6611 in a beautiful knit I purchased from The Cloth Shop Ivanhoe last year and my new coat which was the best bargain ever.
Last year while in Rockhampton, Jen & I may have visited Stewart’s department store a few times 🤫, it was closing down and there was 50% off store wide. On one of the sale racks I found this coat that was heavily discounted and also damaged as the toggles had broken down and stained the coat. Due to the damage I only paid $20 for the coat, I removed the toggles and took it to the dry cleaners - $29.95 later I have a beautiful new coat and my sweater matches perfectly. The fabric has been in my sewing room for over twelve months so that makes it free - right ??!!
12mm single fold binder for the neck edge, all overlocked and coverstitched of course.

A Runner for any Occasion today at Wonthaggi Fabric & Yarns, the students all did a fabulous job learning so many new skills and completing their runners on the overlocker. I truely love how they all look so different because of the fabric and thread choices. Thanks Kerryn and Di for another fantastic day

How lucky am I that I get to do what I love ! Learning to Love your Overlocker today at Bella Fabrics.
Just one day I’d love to have all 10 machines the same! Today we had 2 x Janome, 1 x Juki, 1 x Elna, 1x Bernette, 1 x Bernina, 2 x baby lock 4 thread with tension, 1 x baby lock 8 thread, 1 x Brother
Thanks Jeannie for looking after us so well and baking that amazing cake.

Learning to Love your Overlocker today at Wonthaggi Fabric & Yarns, a mix of students brand new to overlocking and some who were confident to thread and seam but wanted to extend their skills. I’m delighted to say everyone left happy with a much greater understanding and more confidence. Thanks Kerryn for another lovely day

Fabulous Flatlock today at Echidna Sewing Melbourne was so much fun 🩷 the class did a fantastic job with their book covers, so many new ideas, I’m excited to see what they create with these new stitches and techniques. Thanks to the team at Echidna for looking after us so well with their book covers yummy lunch.
