~ CLEANING OUR PRODUCTS ~

There are so many myths about what’s best for our products.

These are what suited our family.

Our original nappies did both our sons (2.5 years between them)
Chunky legs & years of washing meant the elastic wore out BUT they still saved us money and reduced our rubbish footprint!

~ Cloth Nappy Workshops Melbourne ~

Hey Little Turtles Family – Hope you are well!

I wanted to share with you all a page I have been following for a few years now & introduce Elana its creator.

Elana runs virtual classes (with the odd in person one) educating people on both washable / reusable nappies and sanitary products.
I have participated in her online classes for both products & I found them both educational and beneficial for making a decision / gaining information on what’s available and how to use them.

Elana is not a reseller and does not stock products to sell. She simply breaks it all down for you, so you gain the knowledge on these products before you make the financial outlay.
It allows you to see them and make the best decision for you and your family.

I was blown away with the variety of products available for both nappy’s and sanitary products when I first started out. I am very grateful that there is someone out there like Elana that is discussing these products and educating people on them as I did not have such available.

Head over to her page, give it a LIKE, give it a SHARE & join in on one of the Online Workshops.

You won’t be disappointed!

✨ Hi! Hello! Bula! This is me! ✨

Hey Little Turtles family!
In keeping up with my new years resolution in giving back to Little Turtles, I thought I would start off with introducing myself again!

I’m Samantha or as everyone calls me, Sam.

I am a wife to my pretty awesome husband, mother to our 2 amazing sons (Mr T & J Man) and we also have 2 Pugs (Doug & Rosie).

We live in Melbourne Australia.
Clearly this photo of me IS NOT in Melbourne! It was taken in Fiji recently where I fed turtles!
I was so excited I cried!
My sons think I’m a bit weird for this….. and I’m fine with it!

FIVE FUN FACTS:

# 1 – The name Little Turtles refers to our sons. They are the turtles in the logo.

# 2 – I have worked part time as a “Pasta Chef’ for 25 years at family / friends takeaway restaurant. It’s not my actual “trade” but I absolutely love cooking!

# 3 – I am returning to school after 20 years! I will be completing my Accounting & Bookkeeping qualifications. I am terrified!

# 4 – I lived in Fiji when I was younger. We have a very Island Vibe home in chilly Melbourne town. You can take the girl out of the tropics, but you’ll never take tropics out of the girl.

# 5 – Frangipani’s are my favourite flower. They are in the logo, they were my wedding flowers and I recently had part of my Fijian tattoo completed with one.

So that’s me for this post!

Stay safe. Much love.
Sam

✨ WELCOME BACK ~ Where did the time go!? ✨

Hey hey Little Turtles Family! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Where to begin!?

I am very lost with where 2022 went to be honest but I know it was full of lots of fun, laughter & love. I made it a priority to embrace so many aspects of life especially after the last 2 years that I went on a very unintentional hiatus from Little Turtles.

Our eldest (Mr T) completed his first year of full time education, was a superstar whilst doing it & is about to start Grade 2.
Our youngest (J man) thrived at his new kinder & he’s made some great little mates.

Covid finally got us! It was a lovely gift from my husband for Mother’s Day!

In August, we went to Fiji. I stayed there for a month with our sons (Aged 6 & 4). And let me just say - it was the most amazing month.
The life lessons our sons had were exactly why we did it.
They snorkelled, held hermit crabs, chased frogs, counted geckos and went ‘fishing’ every morning with clothesline pegs, a self made fishing rod and a magnet. The imagination & their brothers bond was breathtaking to watch.

For me the trip “filled my cup” perfectly. I needed it. My mental health has needed some TLC and seeing family & friends over there helped me hit reset on so much of myself.

In November, my husband & I celebrated our belated 10th Wedding Anniversary in Darwin. It was our first holiday without kids.
We had such an incredible time together cramming stuff in but relaxing at the same time.

I even swam in the Croc Cage (or the jar as I call it) where you get lowered into a tank with a Crocodile whilst you sit in a perplex ‘cage’….
It was such an adrenaline rush! Get to Darwin! It’s amazing!

And then well 2022 came to an end with Christmas and a New Year.
And now we are mid way through January! CRAZY!

2023 will be for me a bit of a juggle. I will be studying a few courses, the boys have sporting commitments and the business my husband and I have is picking up pace.

Little Turtles will be getting much more love this year.
I may not be able to commit to being at markets every week or fortnight but I will try for monthly.
I am also planning more frequent posts with some random Tips & Tricks that I’ve done along the way of being a Mum. As well as wanting you to share yours.

Our online store will be relaunched soon (I’m working on it in between school holiday crazy shenanigans) but until it is, orders can be placed through Facebook Messenger or email.

Lastly, thank you to the continued support, the referrals and for the simple little check ins.

The last few years have certainly been challenging for us all for so many different reasons, and it has been nice to know that it hasn’t destroyed peoples ability to be compassionate & kind.

Stay safe. Much love.
Sam

I get asked if I do repairs to cloth nappies frequently & these guys are always my recommendation!

When I first started using pocket nappies (almost 6 years ago now), I attended a workshop held by these legends and they were fantastic!

Definitely keep them in mind if you have any repairs

✌🏼💜

Day 15: Snap

Yes, we do have a snap press (& a variety of snaps) in the shop and you are more than welcome to pop by (once restrictions are over) to repair any nappies you may have.

✨ DOUBLE CELEBRATION SALE ✨
We’ve got a happy household here right now!
Our youngest decided to self toilet train last week AND our family is a Western Bulldogs family so we are very excited to be in the AFL Grand Final!
So I’ve decided to share the love / win with a sale! And it’s a LONG one!
Our legend J Man (3) decided he wanted to wear un**es & 5 days later, he was standing at the toilet like a pro!
Not to mention telling us he doesn’t need help at the toilet!
There were around 10 accidents over those days!! He did the hard work!
I just sat back & enjoyed watching his confidence build!
My baby has become a very grown up little boy!!
We’ve gotta take the wins when we can in Melbourne right now!
Or I’ve gone Lockdown Loco maybe?!?
Sale ends Sunday 26th September at 11:59pm
Postage added at checkout.
Yup you read that right!!
It’s basically a 2 week sale!!
We’ve not had one for a while so why not make it a goody!!
Enjoy & please share!
