“Improving the lives of women in countries with high illiteracy rates also means improving the lives of the entire community.”
Empowering women is building a nation at large. Established in 2008, JOYJAYTRA is a fair trade organization dedicated to bring about positive changes in the lives of disadvantaged artisans and underprivileged rural women by reviving and promoting their craft. Reaching out to weavers, potters, jute workers, basket weavers, wood carvers, and more, JOYJAYTRA embraces and nurtures a diverse representation of artisans, 85% of whom are women. Near future, JOYJAYTRA will be the foundation upon which independent cooperative groups and family-based artisans market their craft, in an effort to position the nation’s handicraft industry on a world platform of appreciation and acknowledgement
