Alhamdulillah for this incredible moment! 💙

Standing on stage with my design “The Plastic Fisherman” was more than a fashion show—it was a message the world needs to hear. We often imagine fishermen bringing home fresh catches from the sea, but today, the reality is heartbreaking. They go out to fish and return with plastic. Nets full of trash instead of fish, torn and tangled, reflecting the damage humans are causing to our oceans.

This design brings that reality to life: a fisherman trapped in plastic waste, drowning in pollution. Crafted entirely from discarded, non-biodegradable materials, it turns harmful waste into a visual statement—reminding us that if we continue polluting, the oceans will give back exactly what we throw into them.

This wasn’t just about creativity—it was about awareness, responsibility, and a call to action. We must protect our oceans and support the people whose lives depend on them before it’s too late.

A huge thank you to Grameenphone Academy and Grameenphone for providing a life-changing platform to speak through art.

Full and Short Length Japanese Kimono, Square Cape

This dress is a harmonious blend of tradition and sustainability, crafted with love and cultural pride. Using upcycled denim as the foundation, I preserved its original deep blue color to maintain authenticity and rugged charm.

The vibrant patchwork of hand-embroidered Nakshi Kantha motifs adds life and storytelling to the garment—each stitch reflecting the rich heritage of Bangladesh with floral and geometric patterns inspired by rural craftsmanship.

The loose, comfortable silhouette embraces modern style while respecting the slow, mindful process of hand embroidery and zero-waste design. This fusion of denim texture and colorful Kantha patches creates a unique piece that celebrates cultural roots and conscious fashion.

Through this design, I aim to showcase how sustainable materials and traditional artistry can come together to create garments that are beautiful, meaningful, and environmentally responsible.
