Fashion brands are not looking for more factories.
They are looking for fewer factories that can do more.
A recent 2026 USFIA study found that nearly half of surveyed fashion companies plan to source from fewer suppliers over the next two years.
The reason is operational.
Every additional vendor creates another production calendar, communication chain, quality standard and potential point of delay.
But reducing supplier numbers only works when the remaining partners can handle more responsibility:
● Product development that identifies risks before bulk
● Fabric and trim coordination
● Clear production visibility
● Consistent quality from approved sample to shipment
● Documentation that supports traceability and compliance
The next sourcing advantage may not come from adding another factory to the list.
It may come from building a stronger working system with the right one.
At Daylight Apparel, we help brands move from development to bulk production with fewer handoffs and clearer control.
What matters more in your supplier strategy today: more options or stronger capability?

A founder emails you a sketch. That's it, just a sketch and a target volume that would barely fill a production line for a day.
That's an email most manufacturers don't return.
I've never understood that. A small first order is usually the earlier stage of what could be a much bigger client next year. How they get treated at that stage decides whether they come back with 5,000, or take it somewhere else.
So we treat every small order the way we'd treat a large one:
● Real fabric development, not just picking from stock
● Full tech pack support, even if it starts as a sketch
● Same QC gates, same finishing standards
● Same person on the account from sample to shipment
The best manufacturing relationships get judged over years, not per PO. Three years later, what matters is whether the brand that placed the first order is still working with you.
At Daylight Apparel and Sara Sourcing, we build for that. When our partners grow, we grow.
If you've got a sketch and a target volume and are looking for a factory that takes both seriously from day one, send it over.

One decision moves your Bangladesh garment tariff from 19% to 0%, and it isn't about which factory you pick.
The US-Bangladesh reciprocal trade agreement signed in February 2026 set the base surcharge on Bangladesh garments at 19%, with a 0% pathway for any garment made with verified US-produced cotton or man-made fibers.
Same factory, same order, same lead time. The fiber origin decides the duty.
Which is a bigger operational shift than it sounds like. Buyers now have to confirm fiber origin, not just fiber type. "100% cotton" doesn't answer the customs question anymore. The origin of that cotton does.
And origin has to be documented at every step, not just the last one, which mill spun the yarn, which fabric supplier knit it, which factory cut it. A US-cotton body with non-US thread can still fall outside the 0% pathway, because trims count too.
The math is worth running before you commit. A 19% tariff on a $4.20 FOB tee is $0.80 per unit. Across 5,000 units that's $4,000 that wasn't in your original budget. Whether US cotton makes sense in your specific spec depends on where the fabric premium lands against that $0.80.
None of this makes the factory choice less important. It adds a second question buyers have to answer before the order goes in.
If you're sourcing from Bangladesh in the second half of 2026 and haven't looked at fiber-origin traceability yet, that's the conversation worth having before your next PO. Send your product spec and we'll walk through where the 0% pathway is realistic and where it isn't.

Most PP samples fail before the sewing machine is switched on.
When one gets rejected, people blame the stitching or the fit. Usually the problem was earlier, in something left half-defined before sewing started.
A PP sample only works if it's made from the actual bulk fabric, the actual bulk trims, on the same line that will run the order. Miss any of those and the sample stops being a preview of bulk. It becomes a rough approximation of it.
Where it usually slips:
Substitute fabric, because the bulk roll hasn't arrived. Shrinkage and shade change when bulk starts, and no sewing skill fixes that.
Trims not locked before the sample is sewn. Buttons, labels, and thread that don't match the reference are one of the most common approval fails.
Color approved from a photo. Screens and lighting shift the shade. Color has to be checked against a physical reference, not an email attachment.
No wash test at PP stage. Shrinkage, twist, and bleed only show up after washing. Skip this and the problem surfaces in the shipment.
Incomplete tech pack. Anything ambiguous gets filled in by memory. The sample is built to a guess, not the buyer's intent.
Sample line not the bulk line. A sample sewn by the sample room's best operator doesn't tell you what the bulk floor will actually produce.
None of these are sewing problems. They're preparation problems. A mistake caught at PP costs one garment. The same mistake caught after cutting costs the batch.
If your last PP got rejected and nobody could quite explain why, the answer is usually sitting in one of the steps before sewing began. Send your product brief and sampling process. We'll help you find where it slipped.

Shrinkage should never be checked by guesswork.
Before bulk production, the garment gets measured, washed and dried using the buyer's specified method, then measured again at the same points.
Shrinkage control is more than checking body length. The review should also cover:
● Width change
● Side-seam twisting
● Collar shape
● Placket appearance
● Overall garment balance
Each measurement point gets checked on its own, then compared against the buyer's approved specification. No single acceptance limit applies to every product.

A good polo sample does more than show the design. It sets the standard for bulk production.
Before approval, details such as collar shape, placket alignment, stitching consistency and overall finishing need careful review. Identifying these issues at the sample stage helps reduce unwanted variations during production.
At Daylight Apparel, every approved sample becomes a clear reference for the production team.

A polo may look simple, but its final appearance depends on the details.
From the rib collar and button placket to the stitching and overall finishing, every element needs to work together for a clean and consistent result.
At Daylight Apparel, we focus on translating approved specifications into production-ready garments while maintaining consistency across fabric, trims, measurements and finishing.

Most new brands think Bangladesh factories won't touch orders under 500 pieces.
Not quite. It depends on the fabric, not the piece count.
Under 100 pcs: sample only, no bulk.
100 to 300 pcs: works only on a color already running for another client.
300 to 500 pcs: standard minimum, still limited to in-stock fabric.
500 to 1,000 pcs: covers most new colors without exception.
1,000+ pcs: full flexibility, any color, any fabric.
The order shrinks by landing on a fabric position that's already covered, not by asking nicely.
Easiest fix: pick from the active color range, or time your order alongside another client's mill run.
Send your target volume and fabric choice. We'll tell you which tier you're in.

Three polos. One client brief. Executed without shortcuts across every colorway.

Here's what's actually on these:

● Embroidered crest logo, not a printed patch, placed and sized to brief.

● Contrast tipped collar and cuffs, matched precisely across every colorway.

● Contrast placket piping and branded buttons, the kind of detail that's easy to skip and easy to notice missing.

● A custom woven neck label, not a generic factory tag.

This is what private label actually means on our floor: three different colorways, one brand identity, held consistent across every single unit.

Have a polo brief of your own? Send it over. We'll show you exactly how it comes together.
