জুলুম করে মানুষ নিজেরই ক্ষতি করে। অন্যায়-অনাচারের প্রতিফল দুনিয়ায়ই তাকে ভোগ করতে হয়। এরপর পরকালে চূড়ান্ত বিচার হবে। মহানবী (সা.) বলেছেন, ‘দুটি গুনাহ এমন আছে, যার শাস্তি পরকালে অবধারিত থাকা সত্ত্বেও দুনিয়ায়ও দিয়ে দেওয়া হয়। একটি হলো কারো ওপর জুলুম করা; অন্যটি হলো আত্মীয়তার সম্পর্ক ছিন্ন করা।’ (তিরমিজি ও আবু দাউদ)

জুলুম বিভিন্নভাবে করা হয়। কখনো দৈহিকভাবে, কখনো মানসিকভাবে। কখনো অপমান করে, কখনো মিথ্যাচার করে। কখনো দোষ অন্বেষণ করে, কখনো অপবাদ আরোপ করে। সর্বাবস্থায় জালিমকে এর প্রতিফল পেতে হয়। মহানবী (সা.) বলেছেন, আল্লাহ জালিমকে অবকাশ দেন। অবশেষে যখন তাকে পাকড়াও করেন, তখন তার পলায়নের অবকাশ থাকে না। (বুখারি, হাদিস : ৪৬৮৬)
