Hoodie batch for going on holiday.
This is becoming something of a tradition cause it’s so damn handy to keep track of small kids when they wear outfits that stand out.
The pattern is a free pattern .
The fabric is an design French terry from 
The pattern had a pipping detail which I skipped. I also installed the pocket differently.
Since I could use the projector to cut them I managed to made them in about two days.

‘Tis the season to be crafting at the last minute!
This was my last make of the year: gift sacks .
Faced with the prospect of wrapping a pile of presents for all 3 kids on the 24th of December I said “hell no” and pulled out my sewing machine.
3 hours and 5 meters of fabric later: gift sacks!!!
Every person got one and throughout the 25 they got to take the presents out one by one. Sack races were also attempted.

Now I have a full year to embroider names onto these 😂 will I make it? Or will I be again crafting at the 11th hour 😂
There is no pattern: I cut a meter of fabric and folded in half, along the fabric fold. Stitched the bottom and the open half leaving a hole for the rope and the folded over the top and stitched around.

The fabric is some mid weight poly satin I’ve had for something like 8 years.

Also features my first entry: fixed the really cosy gloves. They had been sewn before but they kept coming apart. This time I used a crochet hook to mend them.

The second time sewing the Dartmouth top and honestly and definitely not the last one. This is such an easy sew. 
I sized up from the previous time I made one. However this fabric has more stretch so it wasn’t 100%needed. Now I know that the fit is very depended on the stretch percentage of your fabric. I will also grade for the small size up top to the larger size at the hips. Unless my body shape changed again.

Mending bonus: the hood on this jacket didn’t have any type of closure so it was basically unusable. Added cord and stoppers to make it functional.

Another batch of Blueberry tees!
These are in size 116 slim.
Fabric has been purchased over the years. Nothing specifically for the batch.
Bonus: mended the fav sweater of my 3 year old. I used a scrap from one of the tees to cover up a small hole.

Holiday sewing. This time a commission. Cause some times Saint Nick’s bag is kinda of old fashioned. But this Costa Tote is perfect for fill with all kinds of treats.

Bonus: my one mended item: replaced the elastic of some of our cloth diaper covers. They are entering their 5th year of use and it’s showing. The PUL is starting to fall apart but they still work.

This is a fun project.
If making this again, I’ll add some length to the straps.

Tried a new pattern from because I was looking for a low stretch knit pattern.
Truth be told I didn’t really look at the instructions as they are a easy pattern.
Inspired by I added knee patches in a leftover from my Estelle jacket and a dinosaur from an Eva Mouton scrap FT.

With motivation from the podcast I also did some mending! From now on I will try and share my makes and mending together . I hope that by giving mening the same spotlight I give making, I will more motivated to do it.

It’s present time! Made a batch of tube scarves for my kids and their friends.
The kids picked the fabrics and labels and I did the sewing .
I’ve used French Terry on three of them and alpen fleece on two of the. The other side is a super soft fleece. 
They are made with a tutorial from . 
These are such a fun make and really handy. 
As such I’m taking a few commissions for these. These are 15. DM to have a sneak peak at my fabric stash and pick a print.

It’s finally here! Pleiades 1 from in their new extended sizing. I’ve been lusting after this dress for years and when it got time to make it I realised I didn’t fit the size chart anymore. Fortunately for me was just in the process of extending the size range and gifted me the pattern ❤️

I cut this back in August using the projector. The sewing happened over 4 days for maybe a total of 10 hours. This could be sewn faster once you are familiar with the instructions.
The instructions do assume you have some sewing knowledge so there isn’t an extensive tutorial on how to put in a blind zip for example. However there is a sew along on the French Poetry YouTube.

After hanging it overnight the viscose stretched out and hemming it was a pain. Since the waist is a V you cant just measure down so unless you have skirt hem marker, you’d better have a friend help.


The drafting is *chefs kiss* . The facing fits stays in place. Even the way it’s tacked down on the seam allowance is elegant. The gathers on the shoulders make the bust fit without adjustments. The gathers on the front of the waist give it a nice amount of swish while the back is a lot less voluminous so it gives a nice smooth curve on the back 

Definitely making this again but potentially one size down.
This one has 5 cm added to the length. Followed .makes and added in seam pockets based on the Pleated summer dress.

The fabric is a viscose bought at and I used 2,8m for size 18, cutting single layer .

This was made from 1,5m of the yellow jersey and some scraps from a baby milestones panel I never used up.
Honestly the fabric is too thick for this pattern.

Instructions are a mess. It’s difficult to know which side is the right and wrong side.
Also it’s confusing when you have to sew the inner and outer bodice.
Despite this, it’s easy to sew. The bodice could be a few cm shorter for my taste.
Maybe add slits to the sides !
Don’t love the pockets. They should be less open and the skirt should be interfaced before adding the pockets.

Despite all that I like it and its been worn a bunch already.

3 times the Piggy shirt by in sizes 116, 104 & 86
Fabric: double gauze

This was a very speedy sew even with using French seams.
The plan was to use a pattern I had bought two years ago. However the files are A4 and not layered so that’s a no for the projector. to the rescue. Such a great source of simple patterns with projector files .
