The flax is currently retting in the field. A natural process where rain, dew, sunshine and microorganisms help loosen the fibers from the woody stem. It takes around 2–6 weeks, depending on the weather. Too little retting makes the fibers difficult to extract, while too much can weaken them.

Nature knows best. 🌿
