Hello everyone! In case you're wondering, I've been a long break from making spindles, due to a couple of tangles with cancer, involving my right arm. The latest was a large egg sized tumour on my wrist which popped up in January. Removed now but further treatment required. I can't knit, spin or do woodturning now, but hope to be back to it within the coming months.

Well, it's been a long time. Another disrupted year. But I'm back in the workshop now and have some spindles to show. Have a browse and if there is something you like, send me a message.

As with many artists, makers and businesses in Europe, UK and elsewhere in the world, I won't be posting anything to the USA during this period of turmoil and uncertainty. Nobody is currently sure how much the customer will be charged by US customs, and the situation can easily change overnight at the flick of a black sharpie. Plus they haven't even organised how they will do it (!) so there could be huge delays or losses.
I don't want my customers to receive a shock bill, plus if they refuse it the parcel will be turned around leaving me with the cost of return postage and more. It is an unfortunate situation, as I've previously sent many parcels to the US without incident and have many happy customers there. Hopefully, things will improve one day and normal service can be resumed.

At the end of August, Belgian postal service bpost announced that they will **no longer post to the US**. So even if I wanted to, I can't.

Hello everyone! I'm still here but the Whimsy workshop has been pretty quiet this year. An emergency trip to New Zealand as my mother's health suddenly declined, then in New Zealand I had a stroke, some recovery time and a rather harrowing journey back to Belgium, then a bereavement, some surgery... yeah it's been a busy year! I got a lot of spinning and knitting done but not a lot of woodturning.

I've just completed 11 spindles which I will decorate in the New Year. Then I'm travelling in New Zealand yet again late January and I plan to bring some spindles with me. So if you are interested, and live in NZ, let me know.

Bonjour tout le monde! I’m back from a tiring trip to New Zealand, and I have some spindles and bowls to show you from July. I kept them back for Woolcamp (in the Netherlands, first week of August) so you’ll see that many of them are sold.
I’ll be back on the lathe this week (now mid/late August), making one custom order then some spindles and bowls for stock. The plan is that I’ll soon (mid September I hope) make 5 places available for custom orders. Don’t ask now though, I’ll let you know when :wink:

Hi everyone. I just wanted to say I am having trouble accessing or sending messages with my Whimsy fb messenger. I have been trying to contact Amadea Prisco and Kim Dovey in the last few days about some new spindles, and today trying to reply to Martine Willet but fb eats all my messages and makes them disappear.

And lastly, the spindles I made in August and September 2021, second attempt at getting these up on my Whimsy page.
These were short months for turning as we had a short holiday in Germany during August, mostly seeing friends, and a longer holiday in September. We went to Italy as well as spending some time with friends in Switzerland and France on the way to and from Italy.

Second attempt at posting up the spindles on my Whimsy page. I posted them all on my personal FB page, so my apologies to those are now seeing these twice. These are the spindles from June and July 2021, just trying to get up to date again.
Most of them are sold but there are still about 5 which are available between May and September.

Hello spinners! Unfortunately Zibbet was recently bought out by another company and will reopen at some time in some as yet unknown form! So I currently have no online shop and need to either wait or search again for another selling platform.

In the meantime I am just posting my spindles on Ravelry which is a knitting and fibrecraft social network if you don't already know it. I must also post the latest spindles here, though most are already sold as they sell out within hours.

Please note that Ravelry is not a selling platform, this is just an interim measure while I don't have a shop. This is my personal record of my spindles, but it is publically visible if you are signed in to Ravelry. If you have an interest in a spindle, you can send me a message on Ravelry or Facebook

Hot off the press, this batch of Tibetan spindles (and a bowl) were loaded into my Zibbet shop this morning. So far, just the Tulip spindle has sold. Half the world is still sleeping...
