During the war, I started this series in an effort to shed light over regional brands that I love & purchase from. And now decided to go local, highlighting a few of my personal favorite brands from homeware and fine jewelry, to of course fashion.

This is part 1 and will start compiling my part 2 list! If you know of Bahraini brands that produce accessories, for example bags and/or shoes, please tag them below!

I came across this skirt after almost 5 years of having it boxed up in the guest/dust room. I left it in there knowing it had potential to be one of my favorite pieces that my mom has ever sent over but I had one major problem, it was too small. My mom was TEENY TINY, most of her adult life; however, I have not been that tiny since my teens. Grateful I took it to right next door to me & got it resized so I can wear it on my movie date with Badoori.

Everything but the shoes are a few years old. The skirt is a couple of decades old & the slip worn underneath belonged to a different item of clothing but loved that it mirrored the silhouette of the skirt & was a sheer playful peek-a-boo option! I 💖 layering… A LOT!

It’s been a couple of weeks since the ceasefire came into full effect & now that I’m slowly digesting everything that unfolded over those 40 days, I have to admit that I feel the same. That I am forever changed, that I have a lot of anger & sadness inside me that come out in the most random places (crying whenever I see someone I love who I haven’t seen in ages is one of those side effects).

Now, with time, I feel that the markets are shifting, I feel that now there’s a bit more movement and spending that is slowly trickling in but ultimately I hope and pray that retailers in the region bounce back stronger than ever.

I am eternally grateful, that it took a conflict ironically, to be featured in (a dream of mine). Inshallah more features to come and under better circumstances.

Thank you to Shayeza, .maki & BOF! Sending you all light, love and mostly peace!

I love shooting in my office, it brings me so much joy! I particularly love that it out brightens any outfit I’m wearing because let’s face it, its BRIGHT!

What im still trying to figure out is my hair, the curls im slowly adapting to & learning that I like to break them up & get properly puffy and voluminous hair-a la the 80s!

My outfit is a mishmash of preloved, new-ish & outlet!
The skirt I got from a few years ago, the best is from also from a few years ago & the top is from from two years ago!

Will be tagging all the brands for you if any of the pieces tickle your fancy, because they’re older seasons, explore preloved apps & websites like Vestiaire, the Real Real, & eBay to find them! The hunt, at least for me, is half the fun! DM me if you need help though, happy to assist!

On a lovely Monday, a few weeks ago, in the midst of the war, I managed to hang out with the coolest peeps in the photography world & felt very very VIP because I got all this attention (& quite honestly didn’t know what to do with it).

Thanks for an impromptu shoot, hang out & for getting me to get up & get dressed!

Light weight easy to wear earrings are a must in my eyes. I absolutely need them to balance out the heavier ones I usually wear for events or shoots. I love triangles, they’re my favorite shape, because the number 3 is my favorite number & this is the logic I hold for why I love it as a shape-judge me not ma peeps!

Here are my photos, of putting on my Sofia earrings in my happy place.

Sending you all light & love.

These are a few of the regional brands that I love, have worked with & bought from. These are who we should be supporting through & through because if we don’t push our brands & our people forward who else will!

I also remembered a few more that I will be creating a part two for for sure! If you are a SWANA brand or know of any other brands I need to check out, Jewellery &/or fashion please let me know in the comments below!

The brands are:
1. obviously! I’ve been there from day one & will continue to be an avid supporter of theirs!
2. by is a brand that’s very dear to me for its environment ethos, its nod to tradition & because Shahd is one of my favorite women on the planet!
3. I met the Mukhis during University & fell in love with their bohemian aesthetics as Jewellers! This war has reconnected us & I’m eternally grateful!
4. no list is complete without one of my favorite Bahraini designers! I love the design aesthetics of the brand & how in touch they are with tapping into the feminine.
5. got introduced to the brand on my first trip to Couture in Vegas & it’s been one of the greatest blessings! The concept of the brand & its design aesthetics speak to me on a very personal level!
6. one of the greatest brands in designing every day fun & printed basics ever! They make dressing up fun & playful!
7. is a newly introduced brand to me but because I have a son obsessed with stones, I’m so excited to continue discovering this brand!
8. is a brand, thanks to instagram, has become a friend! I am so proud of everything she’s doing & how each collection continues to evolve & grow but is deeply rooted in her culture & family history!
9. .official I came across at a pop up recently & fell in love with their design which pays homage to Lebanon & Lebanese history.
10. another bright & colorful brand that fills my life with color! Absolutely playful & full of joy!
11. where I have found a few of my faves!

My pick me up is whimsical. Also, a little bit of everything we have currently been experiencing since life as we know it completely changed. May we live to see the day where we all live peacefully & those who have stirred the pot suffer for a change.
Until then, may this brighten your day/evening a little & may the entire region stay safe.

Most photos aren’t mine but off of if any are yours thank you for filling my world with joy & please DM me so I can tag you!

Obviously, before. When breathing came easily to us all.

Not sure what happened to Innika the brand but I’m so happy I have a few pieces by her (one more preloved piece is on the way). I don’t wear dresses all the time but I’m being more conscious of making an effort to wear them. Wearing pants, jeans, skirts & dresses to make sure I’m wearing as much of my pieces in my wardrobe as possible.

Everything I’m wearing except for the brown tank top is old. No surprise there I’m sure!
The shorts are from 2018/2019, the shirts are from 2022, the headband is from 2005, the sandals are from 2001/2002 I think. Investing & loving your pieces are key whether they are high end or high street. Checking the tags for fabric composition is so important because it’s the only way we become more conscious of what we’re spending our money on & putting on our biggest organ.

What’s the oldest item of clothing in your wardrobe? What have you been wearing & rewearing during this 💩 time? I’d love to hear from you in the comments below!

I sit down looking through these photos & I wonder if this person will ever come back? I hope so. This easy, joie de vivre woman in her 40s pushing people to wear what they have BUT ALSO support local & regional businesses especially now, with everything that’s happening in the region.

What I’m wearing is a mishmash of mostly recent purchases. My jeans are from & I’ll wear them for many many years to come, my cardigan I love and is from , my bag is from .diffusion & shoes are my all time favorite, I wish I owned a bunch of them are from
