Day 1 at the 137th Canton Fair – A Transformational Experience for Consult & Connect BW

Today marked the beginning of an exciting journey as I attended Day 1 of Phase 1 of the 137th Canton Fair here in Guangzhou, China – one of the world’s largest trade events and a global hub for innovation, technology, and manufacturing.

Representing Consult & Connect BW, I had the privilege of exploring various halls and connecting with top-tier manufacturers across multiple sectors including Electronics & Home Appliances, Light & Electricals, Vehicles & Two-Wheelers, and Hardware Tools. The scale, diversity, and technological advancement on display were absolutely phenomenal – China truly feels like it’s operating in the year 2050.

As a Motswana entrepreneur, I was deeply inspired, but also reminded of the vast opportunities that lie ahead for Botswana and the African continent as a whole. There is so much potential waiting to be unlocked, and bridging these global connections is exactly what Consult & Connect BW was created for.

This experience has already sparked new ideas and possibilities, and I am excited to explore how we can bring some of these innovations and partnerships back home to empower local businesses and industries.

Here’s to more learning, more connections, and more growth over the next few days. I’m expectant and grateful for what’s to come.
