Dimane - Machesa Traditional Group

This week we revisit the FIRST Mmino wa Setswana (Setswana Traditional music) album. Released in the winter of 2001, Moselele (feat. Kgobola) is Machesa's debut album. And indeed Setswana Traditional music's debut album.

This recording would go on to score two Kora Award nominations in 2002. The world was hearing a new sound. A year later Tshipidi was released and went on to win the coveted Kora Award for Best African Traditional Group for 2003. But everything started with Moselele back in 2001.

Dimane is track 3 on the "A side" of the album (if you still remember cassettes 📼🤣)
