The company was founded by skateboarders Jason Huang and Zac Link in 2014, who were inspired to start a brand that was built on the idea that anyone can (and should!) get into skateboarding. About a month after conceptualizing the company, Colton Gillingwater was added to the crew and contributed his quirky, surrealist style artwork which would come to separate Salad Skateboards from just about any other deck brand you can think of (he also designed the logo!)
