Thank you so much to artsnb for your support.
This piece is a tribute to the lives, strength, and resilience of Indigenous women and children. It reflects on more than 150 years of history, while grounding us in where we stand today.
At its core, this work speaks to our relationship with hopeâhow we carry it forward each day, and how it continues to guide the future we are shaping for the generations to come.
This piece took me about 4 months to create. This was my first time using copper wire and chasing and repoussé (the technique of embossing copper sheet by hand) to create arms and hands on a body to this scale, which was challenging to design and execute - but I am beyond happy with how she came out.
Grateful to Gallery on Queen for continuing to support and display my work.
