Originally born Sarah Elizabeth MacIntyre, Moon Bear is a Cape Breton native who has grown up in New Brunswick for most of her life. A country girl at heart, with her roots still strongly placed in the Cape Breton soil, she currently lives in the small humble city of Fredericton New Brunswick and attends the New Brunswick Community College of Craft and Design. ned from being a volunteer and integral member of an Artist Guild Society called Sew Sisters, located in Cumberland British Columbia. The small, hippie village nestled in the heart of the mountains of Vancouver Island was a place of ambition and magic that helped her realize her gift in making clothes. She was largely self-taught during her time at Sew Sisters so when she returned to the East Coast in the summer of 2012, Moon Bear wanted to explore her skills and enrolled into the Fashion Design program at New Brunswick College of Craft and Design in 2013. Now in her final year of her Diploma she is going to open a small fashion label in Fredericton called Moon Wear and will be selling mostly at summer music festivals and holiday craft sales during the first few years. Utilizing her diploma in marketing, she plans to open a small retail space/artist co-op in the next few years in hopes to be able to inspire other artists to realize their dreams.
