This year marks the 32nd year anniversary of the death of Kurt Cobain, which was a tragic and devastating loss for his loved ones and members of the grunge and alternative rock community (April 5, 1994).

Cobain’s music reached millions of listeners across generations, as he conveyed very personal, authentic, and vulnerable experiences through his songs. His work challenged conventional notions of masculinity and stardom, and reshaped musical landscapes of his time.

For many young members of his audience, Cobain’s music represents the voice and unity of young people, especially as he was a strong advocate for LGBT+ rights and feminism, social justice issues.

Among his friends, he was known to be empathetic, brave, and undeniably talented. Kurt is also remembered for his lasting cultural impact throughout generations, his musical talents, and the legacy of his professional accomplishments, which continue to live on and inspire generations to come.

Founded in 1991, Cradle of Filth made a name for themselves among extreme metal demographics, carving a spot among the top artists within black heavy metal bands.

They produced iconic albums such as Lovecraft and Witch Hearts, and Nymphetamine, which stand as favourites among fans.

Although the group was founded over 35 years ago, the band continues to tour, produce music, and collaborate with musicians alike.

The group’s sound over time has evolved and developed into memorable blends of metal, symphonic, and gothic, attributed to their experimental approach to music. Recently they even collaborated with Ed Sheeran on a track.

Pink Floyd The Wall

“The Wall” dominated in commercial success after its release in 1979, and amassed over 33 million copies sold worldwide, earning it’s title as Pink Floyd’s second best selling album after “The Dark Side of The Moon”.

The band toured in 1980-1981, and their elaborate performances set a new precedence for rock bands due to their high concept and theatrical production and stage design. The set design featured a 160 ft wide cardboard “brick” wall that was demolished at the end of the performance, and giant inflatable puppets, which contributed to a loss in profits for 3 out of 4 of the band members.

Following the success of the tour, Pink Floyd The Wall, (a film adaptation by Alan Parker) was released in 1982, which earned 22million at the box office and two BAFTA awards. The surrealist drama incorporates elements of war, loss, madness, and oppression, and uses the 1979 album as a script and soundtrack.

Both the 1979 album by Roger Waters and 1982 film by Alan Parker are stunning and notable works, reigning as favourites of Pink Floyd fans worldwide. Pink Floyd “The Wall” is still often sited as one of the best double albums of all time.
