I’m always drawn to the sun and the moon—opposites, yet connected. like twins in rhythm- one reveals, the other reflects; one burns, the other softens

and every now and then i stop by the design pavilion and look at her. the Sun by Dale Chihuly, she is not overwhelming, but intimate. As if it gently kissed you with its light.

take a look at things around you. are they suns or moons? perhaps that depends on the way you see them in that moment..

This portrait used to sit on a wall in my childhood and we would hear all sorts of stories about it. "She was the daughter of...she is the cousin of ..my uncle painted her.." I think till this day, this portrait remains a mystery to my mother and I. We know her yet we don't. So, she came back in 2026, and this is her alter ego: big hair inspired Tracey Ellis Ross and a large victorian collar. She wears rainbow colors and she will live next to a garden of nowruz blooms.

sometimes you will find use making a whole series because it tickles our mind. one particular visitor made french fries and I LOVED IT! it was revisiting Claes Oldenberg in a mini scale.

and yes i totally relate to the soundtrack. thats exactly what i sound like at the sight of your works ⭐️ come blow our minds with paper sculptures at the fine arts museum❤️

u might not be into antiquity i hear you, but you will enjoy the walkthru, the light and a great desire to touch whats forbidden. so don't worry there is a touch and feel mediation room at the end of the show where u will find us with open arms❤️

This is an Iznik tile. Iznik, a town in Turkey, became famous for its tiles during the Ottoman Empire in the 16th c. They are known for their ornate designs, with floral or geometric patterns, and vibrant colors.

I took this tile from my father's collection. And I use it as a weight topper when I cook stuffed grape vine leaves. It is a favorite here at home so we did some yesterday and told Joon it's time she got the hang of it. We eat it with lots of labban (unsweetened yoghurt) delicious!

Also i have been really enjoying Jooni's bday flowers post the party. such a treat to wake up too. Im very grateful for the home and life we have. And I am also very grateful that I can appreciate little wonders like this tile. They come from places and cultures that are being destroyed but I'll make sure that Jooni will pass it on- just like my parents did.

Starting the new year with a lot of appreciation of being back home. We have been taking the time to enjoy re-opening our boxes and re-discovering what gorgeous collections we have. It is such a pleasure to love mementos and recall their stories.

My home for me is like a gallery and i take great great happiness to see my friends works growing in these collections. They become part of my world even at a distance❤️🧿
