The highly anticipated restock of the slouchy tote is now live〰️

In mahogany, mocha, sunshine, and black, the palette compliments the tones present in a rugged coastal landscape.

Its silhouette morphs to what is carried inside of it, expanding as new treasures are added and contracting to shrink its footprint.

Made entirely in nanaimo, bc, from full grain cowhide and 100% cotton lining.

with lots of new faces around, it’s probably due time for an introduction.

hi! I’m Olivia, the one-woman team behind westwood leather co.

I’ve been exploring the world of leather since 2019 after leaving the fashion industry to travel north america in a camper van. I went to fashion school and have a bachelors degree in design, though my imposter syndrome doesn’t always recognize it.

I began westwood leather as an outlet, something to satisfy my need for tactile creativity as so much of my design work had become screen-based. truthfully, the hands-on work is my favourite part of the job. even as a child, I never wanted to become a famous fashion designer who just sketched and never sewed.

so now, I sew a lot. I create objects that blend seamlessly into everyday life and satisfy my belief that form and function can exist in harmony. every westwood piece is focused on thoughtful, pared-back designs that let the natural beauty of the leather shine.

leather care tip: your wallet will develop a beautiful patina with age and use, but an occasional conditioning keeps the leather supple and protected.

treat it like a ritual and not a chore.

give it a buff with a natural leather conditioner like and take a moment to think of all the places that wallet has gone since your last conditioning. maybe it hasn’t left your back pocket but its still developed some freckling or indigo-tinted edges.

next time you condition it, it will have even more stories to tell. a simple ritual that connects you to the material’s natural beauty.

bags are fluid. objects that can be picked up and used by anyone. they don’t have an age or gender.

I used to make clothing and although plenty of pieces can be “unisex” there are still lots of things to consider when planning for sizing, inseam preference, etc.

this is part of why i took to leatherwork so much - it feels truly universal. bags can be worn on any body, any age, any gender, and they take on the presence of the wearer.

wear what feels good.
