Getting out into nature and watching the kids explore is the absolute best part of summer! ☀️ But if you’ve ever camped with active little ones, you know dressing them for those wild outdoor temperature swings can be so tricky.

In this photo, we were right at that magic dusk hour—still warm from the day, but you could just start to feel the night chill creeping in. That’s exactly why we never go camping without our merino!

I used to think wool was only for winter, but it is actually the ultimate summer camping hack. It wicks away sweat to keep them cool during the day, naturally resists stray campfire sparks at night 🔥, and keeps them perfectly cozy through chilly mornings without that gross clammy feeling in their sleeping bags.

We are so excited about this! 🐑✂️ Our popular free fabric scraps just got a fun new upgrade.

We save the fabric off-cuts from our workshop right here in North Saanich. Instead of tossing them, we pack them up for your little ones to craft with! 🌍

The "Garden to Grocery" Reality

Sunday morning truth: 'Just popping out to check the basil' always somehow turns into a couple hours of weeding and organizing my seedlings. 🌿✨

By the time I realize how late it is, I still need to go buy food for the kids' lunches. Who has time to change outfits in between? Not me.

This is my go-to 'Garden to Grocery Run' uniform, featuring our Merino Crew Sweatshirt.

It's the ultimate multitasker. Merino wool breathes when I’m working up a sweat in the yard, but it looks good (and crucially, doesn't smell like mulch) when I'm standing in the checkout line. It handles the transition, so I don't have to.

Efficiency ... gotta love it.

The "Parent Win" Ziploc Hack Attack
I’m probably going to get some flak for using a plastic freezer bag, but hear me out—this is a genuine PARENT WIN.

As a mom of 3 (ages 9 to 29), I’ve learned that being prepared is survival. When we head out on a hike or a day trip in BC, the younger kids will get wet/muddy/sticky.

A spare cotton sweatshirt takes up half a backpack. My favorite trick?

Merino Wool.

I can roll an entire kid’s outfit (top + adjustable leggings) AND an adult large shirt, stuff them into medium Ziploc bags, and they take up this little room.

The best part? Merino wool:

🎒 Breathes so they don’t sweat
🎒 Stay warm even when wet
🎒 Is highly packable
