Today, we honor Truth and Reconciliation Day, a day that holds profound significance in my heart. My grandfather attended a residential school in Kamloops, and my mom is a survivor of the Indian day school system. Their resilience has shaped my existence and inspired our journey.
Both my partner and I come from families touched by the legacy of residential schools, making this day not just a remembrance, but a call to action. It’s essential to listen, learn, and support one another in this process of healing.
Language plays a vital role in reconciliation, and we are committed to doing our part. We’re embracing our native languages and weaving them into our clothing designs, celebrating our culture and heritage.
Thank you for being a part of our journey. Let’s take today to reflect and engage in acts of reconciliation, whether it’s through listening, learning, or sharing stories. Every small step counts. 🧡
