We’re building a market rooted in creativity, craftsmanship, and connection, and we can’t wait to share more with you soon.

If it was just rain or just wind or just cold - maybe - but put all 3 together and I just couldn’t do it.
To the organizers (and volunteers)- what a tough day for all of you. There is a tremendous effort put forth to pull off a show of this size. I am truly sorry to have bailed on you.
To my fellow vendors who braved the elements - you really tried to make it work.
To all my customers - I followed the forecast closely and travelled yesterday with full intention of setting up this morning - how bad could it be? Could the weather forecast actually be that bad? I went to the venue at 7am but just didn’t have it in me to brave everything Mother Nature was planning to throw at us.
Maybe next year? 🤞

Dear Fibre Friends, customers, vendors and volunteers

Tomorrow, the weather looks unpredictable for the afternoon. We will set up in the morning and hope for the best. But, should it become too windydangerous, there's a possibility that the festival will end earlier than anticipated.

We are fibre makers - we know how to hang on until the last stitch is eventually counted....but we also know when a dropped stitch has gone too far. We will do our best to stay all day but please be advised that we recommend you come in the morning before the weather situation deteriorates....

Volunteers, please come early for takedown and keep an eye out for a call-out for help should we need to shut down early...

And let's all cross our needles and hope that we can hook onto some sunshine that causes this system to clear right up!

Visitors to the Fergus Fibrefest are a hearty bunch. Bring on the weather - we can take whatever….but a part of me would love the sun to shine 😬

Big surprise, I know I know! But, as per usual there may be some interesting weather on Saturday - a titch of rain….perhaps a wee gust of wind, some slightly cooler temps…

So, as a reminder,

Guests: this is a great opportunity to wear some
Woolies! Make sure you’re comfortable and remember, you can always pop into a coffee shop, pub, library or bottle shop for a quick warm up in between going from sheltered tent to tent! Check the weather on Saturday as the forecast has been changing a lot lately.

Vendors: PLEASE REMEMBER to bring something to weigh your tents down. I like the big water jugs that go atop water coolers as you can tie up to them easily and empty them at the end of day if they’re too heavy.

As per usual, all vendors must have access to a tent for both sun and rain reasons (yes, that first glorious year was hot and sunny and sun burns happened so please tent up, regardless of the weather!)

PARKING?

Hello Fibre Friends! The day is fast approaching and now’s the time to firm up your itinerary with your fibre group…so pick up your friends and head on over to on Saturday May 23!

A question I’ve been getting these past few days is Where to Park? Well, we have a bunch of options! There are of course the small lots around town…by the , behind the , behind the library and on the streets around the festival. But we feel the easiest parking will be at the large commercial lot we are borrowing at 599 Hill St W. It’s free with no time limits and we have a shuttle bus coming every 15 minutes to cart you up and down the hill!

We hope this helps you have a smooth and delightful visit to the Festival!
