The more time I spend on the BMW R 12 G/S, the more it keeps surprising me.

For a bike with this much presence, it is ridiculously flickable. The kind of bike that drops into corners way easier than you expect and somehow makes every road feel a little more fun. But the real surprise has been how easy it is to ride. It is so well balanced, so natural underneath you, that the whole thing just feels effortless in the best way.

That is what keeps standing out to me. It looks like a bike with a big personality, and it absolutely has one, but it also has this calm, planted, confidence-inspiring feel that makes you want to keep riding it longer.

The kind of bike that keeps making you say, “Let’s see what’s around the next corner.”

Round two for the Insta360 Mic Pro, and this time I brought out the loudest bike I own… the Kove 450 Rally 🏍️🎙️

The mission was simple:
Stick the mic in front of the angry little rally bike and see if it clips the audio or somehow keeps it together.

You decide.

Did the Mic Pro survive, or did the Kove yell too loudly? 👀

An adventure in a day. The GS Experience lets riders tackle a variety of terrain on a range of GS models, putting both rider and machine to the test.

Plus a little body position coaching from Ryan before we headed out was a total game changer off-road, and made us feel way more confident once the dirt started flying.

Big ADV bikes are fun until your knee gets pulled into a staff meeting it did not agree to attend.

I started wearing the Leatt C-Frame Hybrid knee braces because at some point I had to admit that my knees are original equipment, slightly used, and very much out of warranty.

These bikes are heavy, the terrain is unpredictable, and one awkward dab can turn a good ride into a long conversation with an ice pack.

The C-Frame Hybrids are medically certified knee braces built to support the knee and help reduce forces around the ACL, MCL, and meniscus. I mostly forget they’re there when I’m riding, which is exactly what I want from protection.

The Kove 450 Rally is officially back on the road and I’m pretty fired up about it 🏍️💨

She was down for a bit while I waited on parts, and then once the parts showed up I did what any responsible adult would do and left them sitting there until I finally had time to install them 😂

But man, it felt good to ride this thing again.

There is just something about getting back on a bike you have missed that makes the first ride hit a little different.

Anyway, she’s alive, she’s healthy, and I’m once again ready to make questionable rally-inspired decisions.

Now let’s go rally 😈

Insta360 sent me the new Mic Pro, so I had to put it straight to work on an exhaust sound test with the BMW R 12 G/S.

First impression? This thing makes a lot of sense for moto content. The transmitter can do 32-bit float internal recording to its own 32GB onboard memory, which is huge when you are dealing with loud bikes and you do not want to ruin a good take with clipped audio. It also has a 3-mic array, selectable directional pickup modes, AI noise canceling, auto gain control, and Insta360 rates it up to 130 dB SPL, so it is built for louder environments than your average coffee shop unboxing.

That is exactly why I wanted to try it on a motorcycle. Exhaust note, idle, revs, ride-by, all the stuff that actually matters to us.
