This dress required almost a full bodice rework to achieve the right fit and structure. We significantly reduced the side seams, raised the waistline, and repositioned the decorative pleating panel to maintain the original design and proportions.

For improved support and comfort, we added internal boning and replaced the original foam cups with properly fitted bust cups for the client.

The result is a flattering, supportive, and comfortable fit that allows the wearer to focus on celebrating, not adjusting their dress.

This grad’s family member found this stunning pale yellow, embroidered and beaded gown for her, but it sadly wasn’t a perfect fit. I converted the zip back into a corset style that matches seamlessly with the lacing elements already present in the bodice. This also required the insertion of a modesty panel and the reapplication of a lot of beading which had to be removed for the grommet insertion. It was such a rewarding alteration to complete. I am still taking prom and grad alteration appointments for this year.

My client bought this dress twelve years ago from a small maker while on a trip to Mexico but has never been able to wear it due to fit issues. I have taken in the sides significantly while maintaining the original armhole finishing. This makes the alteration imperceptible and the fit something she can wear and enjoy. The dress will be going with her on another trip to Mexico soon, along with many other pieces I altered for her to make sure she had the perfect vacation wardrobe.

This convertible bag began as a duffle that belonged to a family member of the client who proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces. It has been thoughtfully reimagined into a versatile piece that honours its history while giving it renewed purpose.

Designed to convert between a shoulder bag and a backpack, the piece blends function with storytelling. The servicemember’s name remains visible on one exterior panel, preserving a meaningful connection to its past, while the interior features a striking blue lining made from reclaimed fabric.

Projects like this reflect the deeply personal nature of transformation work: preserving memory, respecting materials, and creating something both practical and lasting.

This bespoke plaid dress began as a skirt and was carefully reimagined into a new, one-of-a-kind garment. The tartan pattern holds deep personal significance for the client, matching the kilt worn within her family and honouring that connection through a piece she can wear and enjoy every day.

Because the original fabric was limited, thoughtful pattern placement and creative problem-solving were essential. Every available scrap of fabric was used to achieve the desired sleeve length while preserving the integrity and continuity of the plaid. Working with reclaimed textiles often presents unique challenges, but it also allows each garment to carry its own story and history forward.

A 1940s-inspired coat distinguished by its decorative seamwork and elegant jacquard fabric. The piece was drafted, tailored, and finished with careful attention to the sculptural qualities of the textile, allowing the pattern and sheen to shape the overall silhouette.

Sometimes it’s the small things that make a big difference in the ease of your everyday life. This soft linen slip allows my client to wear any of her summer dresses without worrying about a possible backlighting mishap while the silky snood allows another client to keep her hair clean, protected, and still pretty while doing some of those messier tasks in life.
