This is a Unicorn. Stunningly soft leather embellished with feathers, wood beads, raw edges and antler buttons. The craftmanship in this speaks to the artistry of American Leathercrafting. I have owned this ensemble for twenty years now and have recently discovered it's provenance. It was made in Atlanta, Georgia by Garma's Exclusive Leathercraft. The store operated from the early seventies until late May of 1976, when workers showed up to a locked shop. Owned by Bill Harisson and Steve Early, the garment department was headed up by John D Murril and Peggy Barnes. A former worker there said the garment was likely made by John as the antler buttons were his thing. Another past employee stated "We tooled belts and made great leather garments for celeb's and pimps...from hat to toe!" Measured flat: skirt length 30 inches, skirt waist 11 inches, skirt hips 16.5 inches. Jacket length 19 inches, Arm pit to arm pit 18 inches, shoulder seam to cuff 23 inches, waist 14 inches. Although medium, it wears like a size 2 to 3. Fifty years after it was made, it still smells like leather, is buttery soft and a complete testament to superior craftsmanship. Garma's clothes were crafted for Duane Allman Kiss, Willie Nelson, Chaka Khan and more.
