✨Meet the Maker✨Taanishi! 👋🏼
If you’re new here, I’d like to introduce myself. And if you’ve been here a while, you’ll noticed some things have changed!
•
My name is Kelsi and I’m a Métis Maker from Saskatchewan. My proud family lineage comes from Batoche, Sk and I was born and raised in Saskatoon. Some things about me:
🩵 I am a wife, a mom to two wonderful kids and a dog mom to a very cute puppy.
🩵 By day, I work as a High School Vice Principal.
🩵 My passion is Indigenous Education and teaching/learning about culture.
🩵 I have been beading for about 25 years and love challenging myself to learn new techniques and skills.

If you’ve been here a while and are still reading, you’ll notice that my business has shifted a bit over the years. I started out selling custom clothing as my love of sewing grew (don’t worry, it’s still there!). As I got busier as a mom and with my career, I found it more and more difficult to find time to sit at the sewing machine. I’ve always beaded on the side and realized I found a lot more joy in connecting with that creativity. I still sew from time to time but mostly just for myself and my family. You’ll find smaller sewn items at markets throughout the year but I really just love sharing my beadwork and my culture with others more!

My new name 🩵 Bluebird Beadwork 🩵 is inspired by my grandma. Her and I used to sell beadwork together when I was young and she was always a strong supporter of my business, often coming to sit with me at markets to visit and help hold my babies or make sales.

I know this is a long post but I truly appreciate you for being here and following my beadwork. Hope to see you at some markets this winter. 🩵 Maarsii!
