While hiking in Northern California, Erin Wilson was walking with her Belgian Malinois, Eva, when a mountain lion suddenly came out of the bushes. The animal attacked Erin and scratched her shoulder. Erin called out for help, and Eva quickly ran back to protect her.

The brave dog jumped into the fight and faced the much larger mountain lion. During the struggle, the lion grabbed Eva by the head and pulled her away. Even though she was badly hurt, Eva continued fighting to protect Erin.

Erin refused to leave her dog behind. She threw rocks at the mountain lion and used a crowbar to try to scare it away. A passing man eventually stopped to help, and together they managed to scare the animal away.

Eva suffered serious injuries in the attack, but her courage gave Erin the chance to escape. By putting herself between her owner and the mountain lion, the Belgian Malinois helped save Erin’s life.
