People love to reduce teaching to the hours students are physically in front of us.

But the student-facing day has never been the whole job.

What doesn’t get counted is the planning, prep, marking, parent communication, meetings, report cards, and all the invisible work that follows teachers home.

And if you’re a teacher mom, that invisible workload doesn’t end at dismissal. It just shifts into a second shift at home.
