One thing I probably spend waayyyy too much time on, but it just feels so important to me, is packaging up orders.

All the packaging that I use is upcycled (other than the tape) and I then I like to dress it up with drawings and stickers and anything else that I feel inspired to add.

It takes a lot of time, but it feels like a good final blessing to my creations, as I send them to their new homes.

I also love to know that the recipients will get to find beauty in the process of opening their new piece.

Here are a few photos of some recent parcels that I dressed up. (& then I always wrap them one final time in plain paper so the nice wrapping is protected during travel.)

To all of my customers near and far, I am so grateful again and again and again, thank you from the core of my heart! May your art from me be cherished indefinitely. ♡!

This plant dyed silk scarf has become a wardrobe staple for me over the past few months. I just love the softness of it around my neck and how it keeps the chill off during the colder months.
And if I'm ever caught out of the house without a touque and my ears are cold, I can put it on my head and tie it under my chin to be extra cute and cozy.

I'm thinking of making and dyeing more of these to offer in my shop!
If that's something you'd be interested in, let me know which colour(s) you'd like to be tying around your neck below. ♡

This is one piece that I currently have available on my Etsy at a discounted price, which I think is a real catch! 💘

I dyed this *100% silk* button up with onion skins, maple leaves, and iron, which gave it a very lovely abstract patterning.

I also cut the original sleeve ends off to open them up a little more and make it more comfortable, and then handstitched on some cotton cuffs.

This piece is very easy to wear, and it can be worn buttoned up or worn open as a layer. It's also sooo soft and comfy.

Size medium, but could be worn oversized by something who is typically a small.

You can comment or DM me if you need more info, or check out my Etsy. :)

Even though Spring will not officially be here for quite some time, all the fools springs we've been having must be getting to my head cause I've been in that ✨️spring cleaning✨️ mood.

I'm doing a BIG studio clean up, and with that I've been listing some of my favourite Earthen Dreamer pieces (the ones I couldn't previously bare to part with) on my Etsy at *clearance* prices.

Keep an eye on my stories if you want to catch what's available as soon as the listing goes up, cause I've just been adding things as I go and have been sharing the pieces to my stories as I do so.

I am EXCITED about what all this cleaning has been bringing to me in terms of spaciousness, inspiration, and seeds for the future.

Beautiful things are happening. ❤️‍🔥

I love my customers so much.♡♡
They truly are the best!

Every single person who has bought something from me and left a rating and review on my Etsy has been so incredibly kind and appreciative of my work.

I am so grateful!

Here are some STUNNING pictures of the beautiful wearing a plant dyed silk top that she purchased from me on Etsy.

What an honor to see my art out in the world, becoming part of others' lives and creative paths.

This is one of the greatest joys of doing what I do.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. 😊

Just added two tops to my Etsy!

One is a cotton t-shirt corset top with a silk ribbon for the lace on the corset.
It's best worn with a flowy skirt, but it can be quite versatile!

The other is a 100% silk blouse that is so buttery, soft, and flowy. Listed as XL, but I think it looks best being worn oversized. It's great for layering in the cooler months and is super breezy in the summer! Very versatile. ♡

Also, you'll see on my Etsy that I marked down the price of a few things on there cause I'm trying to clear older works out of my studio... So if you had your eye on something, now is the time!

There is an adorable pair of fancy ritual underwear that is now listed at a very generous price. :)

.: Turning the page on Earthen Dreamer :.

Hello to all, and welcome tooooooo

Elysha Handmade.

! ! ! !

I have been feeling into this change for over 2 years now, with no idea about if or when it would become a final decision. However, over the past week, the decision to let go of the name Earthen Dreamer has fully landed and feels right!

Transitioning away from Earthen Dreamer is bittersweet...

This name was created around 8 years ago.
First, to be used as the handle on my personal account (which is currently ) and then gradually it made its way to becoming distinctly known as the vehicle through which I share my art.

Obviously, so much has changed since I began journeying with this name at the fresh age of 20... and though I feel so much love for Earthen Dreamer and am appreciative for all the history and growth it has come to hold... it no longer reflects the vision I have for my creative practice, and I feel excited about letting it go so that new seeds can take hold.

Coming up with a new name has been one facet of what has made it difficult to lay Earthen Dreamer to rest.

How can one name represent all of the visions and dreams I have for my creative practice, annnd set the tone for how I want it to be known in this world?

At this time... Elysha Handmade is the only answer I have to that question.

It's simple, reflective of the core aspects of my work, and it has the ability to grow with me for years/decades to come... or to be let go of if, at any point in time, if/when a different name feels more true.

The photos in this post are glimpses into some of my favourite creations as of late, paired with some glimpses into me just living my life, as both of these facets are forever intertwined.

Moving forward, my intention is to post more regularly.

However, I will continue to take things slow and take space whenever I need.

Thanks again to those who are here and support/love/encourage this venture through all the ebbs and flows it's been through.

I am grateful for community and welcome more engagement with you all in 2024. ♡

Yours truly,

Elysha

Thanks to everyone who sticks around here even though sometimes I disappear for weeks (or months) and sometimes it seems like I'm sharing more about my relationship with online spaces than I am my own art.

Somehow, someway. they are one in the same.

When I do come around here and you show me that you see me...
I see you and appreciate you. ♡

A continuation of the story of the dress from my previous post.

I don't have a beak to peak my hole in the tree so I had to improvise.

Lately...

Right before the full moon I started cutting some linen for a self-drafted dress pattern, which was the begining of a project that I am devoting to until at least December 1st, but could go on for even longer... we shall see.

It began out in Waiparous, where I got to spend 5 days in solitude (save for the company of a sweet old dog), inspired by the ghost river, the yellow aspens leaves blanketing the ground, and the forest full of aromatic pines. My last night there the full moon illuminated the living room through the full wall of windows and I honored her with white silk. Then the dress went to rest in a pine needle bath until morning.

This past week I've been at home in Calgary, gathering with my family for conversations around candlelight, settling back into our home full of butterflies, and on my walks I've been noticing all the woodpecker holes reveal themselves now that they aren't hiding among the leaves.

All these moments when time is suspended through the pulling of needle and thread, these glimpses of my life are finding their way onto my dress...
And at the end of each week, she sleeps for a night in a dye bath again.

As the weeks and months go by, the dress will get darker, and the thread that's been there for a while will become less visible, as new stories are recorded in stark white silk.

I am excited by what's to come, and am already thinking about how to record the frost and the snow... but this week I am bathing in another warm summer spell and reminding myself to stay present to that through the stitching of sunbeams.

It's been my desire for a while to spend a whole semester working on just one project instead of rushing myself through a few... and it's so rewarding to see how it allows me to really immerse myself in one theme.

Just stitching moments in time.

Let's see what this next week brings. ♡
